Château L’Eglise-Clinet is recognized among the elite producers of Pomerol. The estate was formed in the 1950s from portions of Château Clinet and Château Clos l’Eglise and has been owned and managed by Denis Durantou since 1982. The vineyard spans 5.5 hectares on the Pomerol plateau, with soils rich in gravel, clay, sand, and iron, ideal for high-quality Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The vines are mature, averaging 45 years, with some pre-dating the harsh 1956 frosts. The grand vin is typically a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Grapes are carefully vinified in concrete and stainless steel vats, then aged for 18 months in small oak barrels, 50–70% of which are new. L’Eglise-Clinet is celebrated for its concentration, elegance, and aging potential, making it highly sought after by collectors and investors.
