Château Patache d’Aux is a distinguished estate located in the northern Médoc, in the commune of Bégadan. Originally owned by the Lapalu family, it has been part of the Antoine Moueix portfolio since 2016 and is consistently recognised for producing some of Bordeaux’s best-value clarets. The estate encompasses 43 hectares of vineyards planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, at a density ranging from 7,000 to 9,000 vines per hectare. The terroir is characteristic of the northern Médoc, with well-drained gravel and clay soils that provide excellent conditions for structured, expressive wines. Vinification takes place in a combination of stainless steel, wooden, and concrete tanks, allowing for careful extraction and balance. The wines are then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, before being lightly fined and bottled.
